Construction team from Fresno completes Playground Project

Friday, May 16, 2014

In early April 2014, Christian Friendship Ministries sent a construction team from Fresno, California to Pignon to build a playground at the Bridge Christian Children's Home orphanage. This was the culmination of a 3-year fundraising project for the playground.

The men took 24 bins with them on the airplane all of which were generously shipped free by the airline! When Leader Tanner Munro and his group arrived in Haiti, four of the bins with their major tools had not arrived but thankfully they were found quickly and the team was able to stay on schedule.

During their stay, the team connected with the kids and even played some impromptu games of soccer. On their third day they participated in the Harvest Festival in St. Raphael, witnessing the generosity of our Haitian friends bringing part of their harvests to the church as an offering!

Construction came together quickly and smoothly. There was pure joy as the kids tried out their new playground for the first time. Many thanks to the men on our Fresno Construction team, and to leader Tanner Munro for the vision to make this happen. A place to play is so rare for kids in Haiti!

And thank you to all of you who gave financially for the equipment and trip, and for those who prayed over our team as they worked and traveled.
